Sewage, which comprises both toilet waste and wastewater produced from the kitchen and washing machine, needs to be directed away from your home and into a septic tank or sewage treatment plant. This “black water,” or toilet waste, and “gray water,” or water from your appliances, cannot remain in your living environment. Because this water is filled with bacteria, it has the potential to make you and your family sick.

To safely take the waste where it needs to go, you need to be sure you have a dependable, functioning sewage pump in place.

什麼是污水幫浦?

A sewage pump is designed to work by taking the solid and liquid toilet waste and wastewater away from your home, keeping your living area clean and sanitary. There are many benefits of a sewage pump, ranging from removing water build up to being able to efficiently handle thick fluids.

These pumps work especially well in areas below the main level of your home, such as basements. The pump will push the sewage up, keeping your pipes free from clogs and buildup.

Types of Sewage Pumps

There are two main varieties of sewage pumps — grinder pumps and effluent pumps.

Grinder Pumps

A grinder pump, which is occasionally referred to as a sewage ejector pump, can be used below the main septic or sewer line. As a result, it’s ideal for your basement, bathroom or laundry room. These types of pumps work by grinding up waste so that it’s easier to pump and move throughout the system.

Effluent Pumps

Unlike the grinder pump, the effluent pump is installed and used whenever your drain field is situated above the holding tank and installed in the last section of the septic system. These pumps work by moving the septic materials to your system’s drain field.

How to Remove Household Sewage

Along with having a working pump in place, there are five main steps involved to remove household sewage and dispose of it. This process involves waste moving through:

  • The plumbing system inside your house.
  • The sewer line that travels from inside your house out to the septic tank.
  • The septic tank.
  • The septic tank pipe.
  • The soil treatment unit.

All of these systems work together to get rid of household sewage.
