Submersible pumps for 4" wells. 100% factory tested.
Submersible pumps for 4″ wells.
A submersible well pump is underground and completely in a water reservoir. It relies on pressurized water rather than suction to move water to the surface. The pump sends excess water to an above-ground well pressure tank, which is generally part of your home’s plumbing system. The pump works when it’s totally covered in water. The impellers move water into the surface storage tank, and water then goes into the home plumbing system, with an adapter regulating the access to the well.
Unlike a jet pump, a submersible pump doesn’t come with a pressure tank. It does include a pump motor, an internal check valve, and a water pump. The main difference between jet and submersible pumps is that the latter pushes water up while jet pumps pull. It takes less energy to push, so a submersible pump is better for a deep well.
You may decide what type you want based on how deep your well is. Generally speaking, 25 feet is considered shallow. If it is 25 to 400 feet long, a submersible pump may be the best choice. You can look at the well driller’s report to get the exact measurement information.
